Parth Samthaan receives his second dose of Covid-19 vaccination; calls it 'Anmol'

Actor Parth Samthaan has taken his second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The actor took to his Instagram and shared a picture of himself taking the vaccination.

Sharing the picture on his stories, Parth wrote "Mere do Anmol shots ho gaye poore."

A few weeks back, while taking the first shot of COVID-19 vaccination, Parth encouraged everyone to act responsibly and take the vaccine as soon as possible. He shared the video of him getting vaccinated and wrote, “It’s time to implement the awareness , it’s time to unite and get back our country the way it was by protecting ourselves and our loved ones #ɢᴇᴛᴠᴀᴄᴄɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ #stayhealthy #staysafe. This phase shall pass soon.”

Rohitashv Gour to excited to return with new episodes of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai with Shubhangi Atre and Aasif Sheikh

Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli’s popular show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai is back in shooting mode. The show has shifted to a new location recently to shoot new episodes.

Manmohan Tiwari ( Rohitashv Gour) shares how excited he is to start shooting again. He says, "I am a workaholic and it is good to be back on set. For an actor, it is a relaxation when we go to a new location, a new set. The new location is full of greenery which propels one's thinking. Last year when the lockdown was announced, we never thought there would be a second wave and another lockdown. So for an actor, it is a second setback. No one wants to be sitting idle at home. An actor's job is to go to the set and work.”

He also adds, "I would also like to praise our producers Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli for the way they have visioned this new normal. It is amazing. We had enough bank of episodes so we could wait and start our shooting later. Otherwise, we would have to start early like others at the peak of the pandemic. We all should get the vaccines first and then build hard immunity to face this disease. Making episodes for the future and creating a bank is really a commendable job done by our producers.”

Talking about his own comfort factor as an actor, he adds, "As an individual, I have no problem in the shooting. Last year post lockdown when we have resumed I was scared a bit. But this time I am aware of the problem and the consequences so I am doubly cautious and taking good care of myself. Which is the need of the hour. Producers have made excellent arrangements”

The new location will have Anokhelal Saxena’s birthday celebrations taking place in a resort. Rohitashv Gour, Shubhangi Atre, and Aasif Sheikh share a great bond offscreen as well.

Is Indian Idol trying to generate interest by creating controversies?

Is Indian Idol making a fool of all of us? Could all this tamasha about guest judges being asked to make only favourable comments about the contestants be a ruse to boost the TRPs? A source very close to the show who is also an expert on reality television says these ongoing controversies are self-generated.

“Suddenly you have contestants being pulled up for being not good enough; you have judges pulled up for not being honest enough. These are all planned gimmicks,” the source informs me adding, “The platform is open to many interpretations on how contestants should be judged. First there was a judge, singer Amit Kumar claiming he was instructed to say only good things about the contestants. You now have a lyricist (Manoj Muntashir) criticizing Amit Kumar for talking against the show. It’s all a cleanly designed spiral of publicity.”

I asked host Aditya Narayan once and for all if the guest judges are asked to make only favourable comments about the contestants, Aditya replied, “No, they are not.”

It is common practice on music reality shows to generate controversies when there are none. In 2019 the internet was ablaze with a story on Adnan Sami and Armaan Malik indulging in a spat on the sets of the talent-hunt show The Voice where they both serve as a judge. The truth is, there was no such incident at all on the sets of the show.

Adnan spoke to me and called the whole incident a figment of the PR team’s imagination. “One morning they decided to boost the TRPs of the show (The Voice). So what do they do? They decide to plant a manufactured war between the two most popular judges of the show. Shockingly, Adnan Sami and Armaan Malik were not taken into confidence, probably because those who created this work of sickening fiction knew their idea would be nipped in the bud if either of the two came to know of the planned publicity gimmick.

And that’s exactly what happened when Adnan and Armaan came to know of their war on the sets.

Said Adnan, “Armaan and I were shooting for the show when the story broke out. We were aghast. And livid. There was never any hostility between us. Armaan respects me too much to even talk loudly in my presence. It didn’t take us long to know where the made-up story came from. We were even told to ‘lie low and not comment’.”

Birthday Special: "I don't feel older", says R. Madhavan at 51

Tamil-Hindi heartthrob R. Madhavan turns 51 today on June 1. He has flown to Dubai for the special day to be with his wife Sarita and son Vedant. For the actor who started 28 years ago in the game-changing series Banegi Apni Baat when Indian television was yet to find its legs, Madhavan retains a remarkably fresh and virginal attitude to life and his work. And youth is not a gift to Madhavan from the gym.

He laughs, “I honestly don’t feel 51. I guess it comes from a positive attitude to my work, family, everything. I don’t allow any negativity in my life. You won’t see me moping over a flop or preening over a hit.”

Sarita his “one and only” wife of 22 years, is his anchor and best friend (“besides you of course,” he reminds when referring to his wife as his BFF). How has he managed a rocksteady marriage in the entertainment industry where the ‘Hammer’ falls on an ‘Armie’ of couples?

“Ha, good one. Sarita would kill me if I strayed. How do I avoid temptation? With a nice cold shower,” he quips.

As for this birthday his second during lockdown Maddy says, “Honestly. I’m keeping it really really low and just having dinner with my Sarita and Vedant. I wish my parents were here with us in Dubai. But hey, I’m being greedy. God has given me so much. Even during these tough times my family is safe and healthy, touchwood. I couldn’t ask for more. We just pray for a lot of peace around the world. Hopefully my next birthday would be pandemic-free.”

As for turning 51, Madhavan says, “I don’t feel any older and I don’t have any qualms about growing older either. I know it sounds clichéd, but I genuinely feel you are as young or old as you feel. I think I’ve a perfect life. I remember when my first Hindi film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein had released I had told you I wished it was as big a hit as Hrithik Roshan’s Kaho Na… Pyar Hai. Today I am proud of every film that I’ve done and wouldn’t change or exchange a thing. If I had a chance to go back and change anything in my life, I’d change absolutely nothing.”

NOT Zoya Akhtar, but a new director will direct the Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar documentary-drama

In much of the 1970s and 80s Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar revolutionized the way the film industry looked at screenwriting and screenwriters with their stream of phenomenal hits like Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay, Don, Trishul, Shakti and Mr India.

Salim and Javed re-wrote the entire profile of screenwriters with their uninterrupted run at the box office. And now Javed Akhtar’s son Farhan Akhtar and the latter’s partner Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment are all set to produce a documentary-drama on the Salim-Javed phenomenon.

A source very close to the development informs, “It will contain extensive interviews with Javed and Salim Saab and also with Amitabh Bachchan whose career was spectacularly amplified by the films that Salim-Javed wrote for him. It will also have extensive footage from the phenomenal films that the duo wrote.”

There were rumours that Javed Saab’s daughter Zoya Akhtar will direct the documentary. This is untrue. “We are on the verge of finalizing the director. It will be someone new,” the source told me.

NCB questions late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s domestic help

The Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) has been investigating a drug case that came to light, weeks after the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a year ago. On Sunday, the NCB summoned Rajput's domestic help for questioning in connection with the recent arrest of Rajput's flatmate, Siddharth Pithani. Since last year, nearly 35 people have been arrested in connection with the case.

Reportedly, Rajput's domestic help identified as Neeraj and Keshav were taken to the agency office at Ballard Estate and were being questioned till late on Sunday night. However, there is no clarity on how the domestic help is connected to Pithani’s arrest, yet.

Pithani was arrested from Hyderabad last week and brought to Mumbai. He has been charged with conspiracy to supply drugs in the SSR case. He was produced before the court last Friday and is in NCB custody till June 1.

The NCB started the drug probe last year after the Enforcement Directorate allegedly found WhatsApp chats involving Sushant and his close ones talking about substance use. Through their investigation, several Bollywood celebrities were also interrogated including Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone.

Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty were also arrested by the NCB and spent months in judicial custody. While Rhea was in custody for a month, her brother got bail after nearly three months in custody.

Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav to star in Zoya Akhtar's next production

It seems like Zoya Akhtar has finalised her cast for her next production. A few months ago, it was reported that Ananya Panday was roped in to star in Akhtar's next venture. While not much is known about the genre or the characters, the filmmaker has found her male leads in Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi and The White Tiger fame Adarsh Gourav.

Both the actors have been breakout stars in their respective movies. While Chaturvedi has worked with Zoya in Gully Boy, Ananya and Adarsh will work for the first time. According to a tabloid, the actors have agreed to star in the film and the makers are currently working out the paperwork. While they plan to take the film on floors this year itself, it all depends on the COVID-19 situation.

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday are also starring in Shakun Batra's next alongside Deepika Padukone. It is being bankrolled by Dharma Productions.

Sonu Sood to work for COVID-19 orphans: "We need to find a more permanent financial solution to the crisis"

Come praise or flak, Sonu Sood continues to work relentlessly for the Covid- 19 affected. Sonu’s restless attention has now shifted to those children whose parents have succumbed to the pandemic.

In an exclusive conversation, Sonu says, “I am aware of the growing situation. It is serious. I am in touch with those families, those children who have lost their parents. I had also made a request to the state governments to make the education of Covid orphans free and also to provide some kind of regular pension for those families which have lost their earning members. I am glad it's happening.”

Sonu is happy to note that the State governments have reacted quickly to the crisis. “11-12 states have already announced free education for kids, and some pension. But I think much more needs to be done in this matter. Efforts to help Covid orphans need to be more consolidated. We need to find a more permanent financial solution to the crisis. Compensation and pension should go to not only to children in government schools but also in private schools. Orphaned children are equally vulnerable in every situation. Why look at only children in government schools?”

Sonu is working on solving this government-versus-private situation. “A strict law should make it mandatory to give equal attention and compensation to children in all schools. We are trying to gather data on all the kids who are thus affected, and we are trying to do our best for them.”

Also, Sonu feels more help is needed on the civilian-individual level. “Every family who can afford it should consider adopting one such Covid orphan.”

Akshay Kumar's Prithviraj receives threats from Karni Sena; the outfit demands title change

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has received a threat from the outfit, Karni Sena, over his upcoming film Prithviraj. The actor is set to play Prithviraj Chauhan in the Yash Raj Films' period drama, marking the debut of Manushi Chhillar who plays Sanyogita, and helmed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Surjeet Singh Rathore, President of the Youth Wing of the Karni Sena, has put forth three conditions for the film and warned Yash Raj Films' head honcho Aditya Chopra that if they don't comply with the demand, they will face the same situation as Sanjay Leela Bhansali did during Padmaavat.

He spoke to a daily and then shared news clippings on his Instagram. Rathore wrote in Hindi that the organisation respects Akshay Kumar and that YRF's Adiya Chopra should respect the last ‘Hindu Samrat’. The three conditions include the screening of the film before its release, the film be shown to the Rajput society, and the title of the film to have the full name — Veer Yoddha Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.

Akshay Kumar had announced the film in 2019. He wrote, “Elated to share about my 1st historical film on my birthday!Humbled to have the opportunity to play a hero I look up to for his valor & values- Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in one of my biggest films #Prithviraj. Due to the pandemic, Prithviraj got delayed. Now, they have decided to release it on November 5, 2021.

SCOOP: Netflix in race to buy Zoya Akhtar's documentary on Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar

Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are India’s most iconic script writers having delivered few of the biggest cults of Hindi cinema. The celebrated writer duo changed the landscape of commercial cinema and their films resonate with different strata of audience even today. Earlier last week, there were reports that Javed Akhtar’s daughter, Zoya, is planning a docu-drama on Salim Javed. The reports were confirmed by Salim Khan in an interview.

The celebrated screenwriter was quoted by Dainik Bhaskar saying, “This news is absolutely true. Zoya (Akhtar) shared this idea (with me) around a month and a half back and she has started her research too. She will also be speaking to all those people, who have worked with us in the past. It’s going to be a long process. It’s not a biopic but something like a documentary.”

Bollywood Hungama has an exclusive scoop on this Salim-Javed story. “Netflix is in the race to get the exclusive streaming rights of this project. They are in advanced conversation with Zoya and her team and the deal is expected to be locked soon,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

That’s not all; Netflix is a platform that is planning to make a docu-drama on multiple Indian personalities. “It’s an IP that the streaming giant is trying to create. Recently, Sheila Anand documentary by Shakun Batra released on their platform. Next in the same IP in all probability will be Salim-Javed story, and announcement will be made once the paperwork is done,” the source further told us and added that they are in talks with many other achievers in different streams.

The Salim-Javed story has already become one of the hot topics of discussion in the Hindi film trade and everyone is eager to know the making of this iconic duo and their process of cracking the script and dialogues of some of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters. The trade is also expecting an insight into what went wrong with the duo in the 1980s resulting in fallout. It’s wait and watch to see the facets that Zoya explores with this story.

BTS members glow as superstars in 'Butter' performance video

More than a week ago, the 21st-century pop icons BTS dropped a music video along with 'Butter'. After celebrating a week of records and setting new records with the second English single, the second music video arrived with 'Butter (Hotter Remix)'. Today, making the weekend a little better for the fans, BTS dropped a performance video.

On Sunday, BTS released a performance video quite different from their dance practice video which was shot in their new HYBE building. The bright-lit room focused abundantly on the members who were dressed in warm colors - yellow, white, blue, green among others. The t-shirts, denims, jumpers, cardigans, and shorts added a soft feel to the look of the members. Showcasing their crisp choreography and strong screen presence, BTS charmed their way with their superstar glow and ever-so compelling dance break. In the description of the video, it was dedicated to their fans. "Special Thanks To SWEETEST ARMY," it read.

On May 25, Guinness World Records confirmed that the septet's new single broke the record for the most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube with 3.9 million concurrent viewers for its premiere on 21 May 2021. The record was previously held by BTS themselves for their last single 'Dynamite', which had 3 million concurrent peak viewers. Furthermore, the single has broken the record for the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours with 108,200,000 views, which was confirmed by Youtube on May 24. They have also broken the record for the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.

After three YouTube records, BTS made their way to Spotify. 'Butter' garnered "11,042,335 global streams in just one day, breaking the record for the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours."

The pop icons debuted the performance at Billboard Music Awards 2021 followed by a second performance at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and a third performance on the Good Morning America 2021 Summer Concert Series on May 28. Friends: The Reunion censored in China; BTS, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber's appearance deleted

The much-awaited Friends: The Reunion special premiered on Thursday, May 27 in the US on HBO Max and ZEE5 in India. The original star cast Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer returned to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show. They talked about shooting the show for 10 years, how much they stay in contact, some unseen memories, and more.  While it had a star-studded guest list, many of them were deleted from China's broadcasting.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "The country even acquired three major streaming platforms to broadcast the show to fans: iQiyi, Alibaba's Youku, and Tencent Video."

"All three cut around six minutes of footage, entirely deleting appearances by musicians BTS, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, as well as LGBTQ fans, among other scenes," Variety reported.

EXCLUSIVE: Sonia Rathee on working with Sidhart Shukla in Broken But Beautiful 3 and tackling toxic relationship in the series

Sonia Rathee is seen for the first time as a lead in ALT Balaji series Broken But Beautiful 3. The actress stars as Rumi Desai in the series opposite handsome Sidharth Shukla who makes his digital debut with this series. The story revolves around two very different and opposite people falling for each other and their struggle to be with each other, the story deals with toxic relationships and modern age love.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sonia Rathee was asked what it was like working with Sidharth Shukla who is foraying into digital with this series. “It was also a rollercoaster in itself working with him. He’s definitely the fun guy; it was never boring around him as we were always playing around the sets as soon as they called cut. Work was not work which a great thing is also; we all had fun on sets and kept everybody happy. The entire crew happily had a fun time working together we kind of became like a family.”

In the trailer, it seems like a tragic story between Rumi and Agastya which is borderline toxic as well. When asked about why is it important to talk about toxic relationships, she said, “I think that the toxic relationship what you’re talking about is 100 % right in some ways. I think that the way story is told I think it’s important because it does show it is immature and that we aren’t good for each other. In some ways, it is destructive, it sheds light on that. It’s not glorifying toxic relationships so that’s a valid point at times we see that we take love because it is love and not because it is good for us. Agastya has issues but so does Rumi and she gives it back, so it’s a two sided thing and even I still bad for Agastya.”

Sonia further talked about her experience on toxic relationships in real life. “I have seen them, thankfully never been in one but I have seen toxic relationships and what it does to people. I have witnessed that people stay in that because its love and they feel like they are wanted or needed.”

Broken But Beautiful 3 is the story of Agastya Rao and Rumi Desai — two people from very different worlds. Not only are their worlds poles apart, but they are also a complete contrast to each other. He is a struggling artist; she is a poor little rich girl. But unfortunately, opposites attract. Both knew what they wanted, but not what they needed. Love came looking for them when they were chasing their obsessions. And their journey comes full circle when they both realize that it is too harder to fall out of love than to fall in it.

Epik High's Tablo, Barry producer Jason Kim, Scooter Braun set to create K-pop comedy series Neon Machine for Amazon

With the rise in interest in the Korean entertainment industry, streaming giants are curating original drama and movie content on several platforms. Amid this comes a comedy series from popular alternative high group Epik High's rapper-songwriter-producer Tablo and Barry producer Jason Kim. Titled Neon Machine, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande's manager Scooter Braun's SB Projects is also involved in this upcoming series set for Amazon.

According to Deadline, "Working with a predominately Korean producing team, the comedy series created by Barry producer/writer Kim tells the tale of an out-of-left-field K-pop superstar who hits a global chord but might lose it all in the process. Kim will executive produce along with Epik High leader Tablo and SB’s Braun, James Shin, and Scott Manson." The casting is still underway for the lead role and other characters.

Tablo is one of the legendary rapper-songwriter-producers in the South Korean industry. While he continues to work individually with several artists as well, with Epik High, the rapper has released 10 albums and a 2011 solo album.

EXCLUSIVE: Parineeti Chopra reveals her first reaction after seeing Arjun Kapoor cross-dress for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

Amazon Prime Video premiered Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer edgy thriller, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar on 20th May 2021. Produced, written, and directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the movie also stars Neena Gupta, Raghuvir Yadav, and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. In a particular scene in the film, Arjun Kapoor is seen cross-dressing.

Reacting to the same, Parineeti Chopra recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama and revealed what was her first reaction after seeing Arjun Kapoor do the act. While answering a fan's question about the climax scene, Parineeti said, "I was so proud of him. Everybody knows my love for Arjun and my loyalty as a friend. He's the only guy who has done it like this, in a story narrative so convincingly. He is 6 foot tall, broad-shouldered man to dress in drag. It says so much about him as an actor, so I was very proud."

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar follows the story of two completely different individuals whose lives suddenly intertwine. Pinkesh Dahiya or "Pinky" (essayed by Arjun Kapoor), is a Haryanvi Police Officer, while Sandeep Kaur (essayed by Parineeti Chopra) is an ambitious girl from the corporate world. Ironically this pair of chalk and cheese are united by their mistrust, suspicion and hatred for one another. This suspense-drama promises to keep the viewers glued to their seats as it explores the polarities of the two worlds and is packed with great performances by the iconic Ishaqzaade duo who are back together to reignite the silver screen.
