Sobhita Dhulipala opens about ‘life coming in full circle’, from being rejected as a background model for a brand to being its brand ambassador

Sobhita Dhulipala, who is one of the self-made stars in Bollywood, recently has been busy promoting the web series The Night Manager. The actress, who has been a part of some prestigious projects like Ponniyin Selvan, opened up about the kind of transition and culture-shock she experienced as a teenager who shifted from Vizag to Mumbai. Recalling her initial days of modelling and giving auditions for TVCs (Television Commercials), Sobhita revealed that she was rejected as a background model for the skin and haircare brand L’Oréal and then later, being signed on as one of their brand ambassadors. During her interview with Mashable India, Sobhita Dhulipala discussed her journey, starting from her early modelling days to becoming an actress. In the same, she opened up about how she faced several rejections because she didn’t fit the conventional standards of beauty. She said, “I never got even one because they told me I was not pretty or appealing”. The actress went on to add that during her college days, she did not believe that she was good-looking because she felt out-of-place in terms of fashion and style. So when she got rejected from modelling assignments, she would often believe it to be true because she was not confident about her looks. She added, " I was like, ‘Yes, obviously,' bachpan ka woh trauma tha, woh sach bol raha hai (because of my childhood trauma, I believed that they were saying the truth).” Sobhita went on to recall about her L’Oréal experience saying, “Mujhe voh bhi nahi mila (I did not even get that).” She continued, “Background mein bhi reject kia tha (They rejected me as a background model also).” She concluded the experience, “I was with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, passing shampoos, doing the ad, and I just felt it’s nice to be here,” she said. Coming to her recent project The Night Manager, the web show is a remake of John le Carré’s novel by the same name and stars Aditya Roy Kapur as well as Anil Kapoor as the two essential characters with Sobhita’s role as Kaveri acting as a crucial catalyst. Priyanka Chopra on being called ‘black cat’, ‘dusky’ in Bollywood: ‘I thought I was not pretty enough’

Priyanka Chopra has risen to global fame. After a successful career in the Hindi film industry, the actress ventured into Hollywood and has starred in many projects and headlined the ABC series Quantico. As she gears up for Citadel, the actress recently sat down for a conversation about women in films, South Asian identity and pay parity. She discussed about body shaming and being called ‘black cat’ in the film industry. Speaking after she was mentioned on the BBC 100 Women list for 2022, Priyanka Chopra recalled being shamed for her complexion. “I was called 'black cat', 'dusky'. I mean, what does 'dusky' even mean in a country where we are literally all brown? Of course, that comes from our colonial past, it's not even been 100 years since we shed the British Raj, so we still hold on to it, I think. But it is up to our generation to be able to cut those ties and change it so that the next generation doesn't inherit the equity placed on light skin,” she told BBC. "I thought I was not pretty enough, I believed that I would have to work a lot harder, even though I thought I was probably a little bit more talented than my fellow actors who were lighter skinned. But I thought that was right because it was so normalised," she said. Meanwhile, with Citadel already gearing up for the premiere in April 2023, Priyanka Chopra has lined up her next project. The actress is set to executive produce an upcoming limited series through her banner Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP). Amazon Studios is developing the project titled Assume Nothing, which is based on Tanya Selvaratnam’s memoir of the same name. Priyanka is also in talks to star in the same. REVEALED: No change in release plans; Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar to arrive in cinemas on March 8, as originally scheduled

Last week, Bollywood Hungama reported that there could be a change in the release date of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The makers of the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer were contemplating releasing the film on Tuesday, March 7, instead of Wednesday, March 8. The thought emerged as the makers thought that it’ll be wise to take advantage of the Holi holiday in several states on March 7. However, we have not learnt that the prepone plans have been dropped. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There is no change in the plan. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will release on March 8, as originally scheduled.” The source further said, “A lot of last-minute prep is going on with the film and the makers feared that releasing a day earlier might add a lot of stress to the already overworked team. Moreover, even internationally, the plan was locked for March 8. Hence, a decision was taken to release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar on March 8.” The source added, “The makers are confident of a healthy opening, though it’ll be a working day in several states on March 8. But thanks to considerable hype and youthful appeal, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar can score on the partial holiday on Wednesday. And let’s not forget that Women’s Day also falls on March 8 and that can further boost the footfalls.” A trade expert quipped, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will enjoy a five-day weekend and then there’s limited competition till the release of Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa. If the film clicks with the audience, it’ll be the second hit of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.” Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar also stars Dimple Kapadia and Anubhav Singh Bassi. Farhan Akhtar shares a note on Instagram for cancelling his Australia concert due to unforeseen circumstances

Bollywood actor and musician, Farhan Akhtar, has stated that “unforeseen circumstances” will prevent him from appearing in Australia less than two days after his performance in Pune. Over the weekend, his band FarhanLive was scheduled to play in Sydney and Melbourne. He shared the information with his followers on Instagram. Farhan Akhtar announced the cancellation of his band's tour in Australia this month on his Instagram account. The actor also voiced his dissatisfaction with the unexpected developments. Deepika Padukone speaks on remaining calm during Pathaan controversy: “All we know is commitment, hard work and humility”

After consecutive flops in 2022, Bollywood started 2023 on a high note with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan creating history at the box office while breaking and making records. Though the song ‘Besharam Rang’ created controversy, it did not affect the performance of the film. Interestingly, during the entire controversy, the star cast of the film, SRK, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham remained tight-lipped. However, a month after the release of Pathaan, Deepika opened up about it and credited her and Shah Rukh Khan’s sports backgrounds for helping them to sail the Pathaan controversies. It all happened during DP’s interview with India Today. Speaking of the same, she asserted, “I can say this for both of us we don’t know any other way of being. I think that’s just who we are as people and the way we have been brought up by our respective families. We came here [to Mumbai] alone with just dreams and aspirations. All we know is commitment, hard work and humility, and it has gotten us where we are.” She further explained, “Some of it [handling adversity] comes with experience and maturity. We both have been athletes. I do know that he played sports in school and college. Saiyami Kher to essay the role of a para-athlete in R Balki's sports drama Ghoomer

Saiyami Kher will soon be seen in R Balki’s Ghoomer, an emotional and inspiring sports drama. Saiyami plays the role of a para-athlete, a cricket prodigy. Although she grew up playing cricket, this role was especially challenging since she had the role of a para-athlete, something she had to work hard to get into character. Siayami says, “I play the role of a left-handed bowler in Ghoomer and, for me, in real life, I am a right-handed player. I could never actually step into the shoes of a real-life para-athlete, but even the small hurdles I had to overcome being an athlete myself, reminded me of things we take for granted. Preparing and filming for Ghoomer opened my eyes in a way that I never thought would happen to go into it. It was a physically and emotionally challenging time, but my struggles were minuscule when compared to those heroes who make our country proud by participating in so many sports as para-athletes”. Akshay Kumar takes the blame for his films not working; says, “It is my fault, 100%”

Earlier this week, yet another film of Akshay Kumar hit the theatres. Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, is an action comedy that is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License. While the trailer and the remake of the song, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ from the film was quite well-received, the film failed to make a mark among the audiences. In a recent interview, the actor, who insisted on giving up his Canadian citizenship for Indian citizenship, also opened up about his recent failures at the box office. The superstar also requested everyone to not blame the audience, further taking up the blame on himself about his films not working. In his interview with Aaj Tak, Akshay Kumar opened up about the performance of his recent theatrical releases, and said, "It is a great alarm, aapki film nahi chal rahi to galti aapki hai (If your films are not working, it is your fault). When your films flop in a row, it is an alarm for you that it is time for you to change. Mai koshish kar raha hun, wahi kar sakta hoon (I am trying to change, that is all I can do).” He continued, “Do not blame the audience or anyone else. It is my fault, 100%. Aapki film na chalna is not because of audience. It is because of what you selected. Maybe you have not given the right ingredients in the film.” Furthermore, the actor also opened up about experiencing a much worse fate in terms of films in the past, wherein he had given 16 consecutive flops. "This is not happening with me for the first time. There was a time when I had eight films in a row that did not work. Now, I have had three-four films in a row that did not work. The thing is that it happens due to your own fault, film ka na chalna (a film not working). The audience has changed, you need to change, you need to dismantle yourself,” he maintained. Arbaaz Khan opens up on why he began his career as a villain in Daraar; says, “Honestly, I was just waiting to start work”

Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan began his career with a negative character in Daraar. One would question why the brother of one of India's biggest superstar, Salman Khan, and the son of a renowned screenwriter (Salim Khan), would start his career with the role of a villain. Zeenat Aman opens up on the disparity in pay between male and female actors; says, “It disappoints me that even today women in the film industry don’t have wage parity”

Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman recently shared her thoughts on Instagram regarding the evolution of the Hindi cinema business through the years. She did, however, note that the gender wage discrepancy has not changed. On Saturday, the actress took a trip down memory lane and shared an old clip in which she can be seen dancing on the song ‘Laila O Laila’ from Qurbani in 1980. Sharing the video, she wrote, “In the late 70s, Keith Adam from the Australian Broadcasting Commission popped by the set of Qurbani, where I was rehearsing for ‘Laila o Laila’, and snagged himself an interview. It’s been nearly 50 years since this footage was shot, and the industry has changed immensely since. The roles available to women are clearly not just ornamental anymore. What hasn’t changed though is the gender pay gap. In my time I was lauded as the “highest paid female actor”, but the disparity in the pay cheque between my male co-stars and myself was so vast it was laughable. The Zeenat you see in this clip was quite certain that half a century would be enough time to even the scales. So it disappoints me that even today women in the film industry don’t have wage parity. Women have consistently put in the work, and I really think that the onus is now on our men - actors, directors, producers - to ensure that their female co-workers (not just stars) are paid fairly. SCOOP: Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar's makers contemplating preponing the release of the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer by a day

The much-awaited romcom, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, is less than two weeks away from its release and there's considerable excitement among the audiences. The trailer and songs of this Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer have worked well and trade expects Luv Ranjan’s directorial to have a huge opening at the box office. And if sources are to be believed, the makers are thinking of releasing it sooner than expected. A source said, "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 8. But the producers are toying with the idea of preponing it and releasing it a day earlier, on Tuesday, March 7.” The source continued, "The second day of Holi falls on March 7. There has been confusion over this aspect. In many places, the Holi holiday will be on March 7. To take advantage of it, the makers felt that it was wise to come on March 7 since that's when it'll get maximum footfalls." The source, however, also added, “A decision will be taken in a few days. If Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar gets ready in time, it’ll be out on Tuesday, March 7. Or else, it’ll arrive in cinemas on March 8, as scheduled.” If Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar releases on March 7, it will enjoy an extended six-day weekend, which is very unusual as filmmakers prefer releasing the day on Thursday or at the most on Wednesday, if not on Friday, to take advantage of a festive holiday. Javed Akhtar reacts to his comment on 26/11 attacks; says, “It became too big, it feels embarrassing”

Javed Akhtar recently went to a festival in Lahore to honour the author Faiz Ahmed Faiz, where he learned that Indians believe all Pakistanis to be terrorists. In a sharp response, Javed stated that the terrorists of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks continue to roam freely in Pakistan. Since then, he has been at the centre of the debate; while Indian celebrities and politicians are applauding him for the statement, Pakistani celebrities like Ali Zafar have criticised him. Javed reiterated his remarks from the event while speaking at an ABP event. He said, “It became too big, it feels embarrassing, feel like I should not go (for such events). He replied, “I’m sure the youth of Pakistan will embrace you with open arms. I’ll tell you one thing — No country is a monolith. What happens is that we start believing that the policies of their government and establishment is what the country is about. But that’s not true.” He further added, “The fact is that it is very unfortunate that we are unaware that there is a huge segment in Pakistan that wants to have a good relation with India and that is totally understandable, not because they are saints, but because they are seeing a country next door jahaan itna development hai, itni industries hai, jahaan par corportate world itna develop kar gaya, jahaan culture itna hai, jahaan music aur films itni peak pe hai. So, an average citizen of that country would obviously be curious and would want to come here and see and if given an opportunity of a job or a presentation, he’ll run to do it and it totally understandable.” The Faiz Festival was a three-day event, which commenced on February 17 and ended on February 19. Javed believed that it was unfair to expect Indians to disregard the fact that the attackers were living freely in Pakistan after having witnessed the horrors of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. The past week has been dominated by Hera Pheri. It all began with the report that the much-awaited comedy sequel has gone on floors on February 21. The report also stated that Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their characters. Later, it came to light that Farhad Samji will be directing the film and that the team shot for a promo. The next day, Bollywood Hungama broke the news that the third part will not be called Hera Pheri 3. Instead, it has been titled Hera Pheri 4. And now, we bring to you another exciting update. Yesterday, it was reported that Sanjay Dutt has been cast in Hera Pheri 4. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sanjay Dutt has indeed signed the film. It is said that he’ll be playing one of the antagonists in the film. His character is blind and is quite quirky. He’s expected to add to the madness quotient of the Hera Pheri series.” The source further said, “Sanjay Dutt is superb in comedy roles and the makers felt he’ll be right for this role. Moreover, his casting will add to the brand value. He’s an exciting addition to the Hera Pheri universe and it’ll be interesting for the audiences to see him locking horns with Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal). There are also reports that Arshad Warsi has been signed in Hera Pheri 4 but our source couldn’t confirm this development. Nevertheless, the reunion of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi has excited some fans since both have been loved in the Munnabhai franchise as Munna Bhai and Circuit respectively. Meanwhile, in an interview with Mid-Day, Paresh Rawal confirmed that Hera Pheri 4’s shooting will begin in the next three months and that it’ll be shot in Mumbai as well as in foreign locations. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been making headlines everyday be it for Javed Akhtar or nepotism. Recently the actress made news for taking a dig at Karan Johar for his film Selfiee. On the day when Selfiee was released, actress Kangana Ranaut criticised the movie on her Instagram page. Featuring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in the lead, the film is directed by Raj Mehta. Raju, Shyam and Baburao to go international in Hera Pheri 4, “They will do Hera Pheri globally,” reveals Paresh Rawal

The news about the third film in the Hera Pheri franchise was out two days back on February 22. A leaked photo of the famous trio from the series – Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal – along with the team were spotted shooting a promo for the movie in a studio in Mumbai. Interestingly, despite it being the third film in the franchise, it is titled Hera Pheri 4. There is a lot of curiosity among the fans to know what the next instalment of the series has in store. It is now learnt that this time, the Hera Pheri trio of Raju, Shyam and Babu bhaiya, played by Akshay, Shetty and Rawal, would travel internationally. Rawal revealed this in a conversation with Mid-Day along with the shooting schedule of the film. “We’ll begin shooting in three months,” he told the publication. “It will be a (long) schedule in Mumbai. The movie will also be shot in international locations like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Los Angeles, as Babu bhaiya, Raju and Shyam go abroad. They’ll do hera pheri globally.” Rawal was happy to meet his co-stars for the promo shoot recently. “Meeting them felt like ghar wapsi. It’s always a joy shooting with Akshay and Suniel. They are talented actors who are not insecure about their work. We have mutual respect. Our off-screen camaraderie reflects in our on-screen chemistry,” he further told the publication. Earlier, there were reports about Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay in the third part of Hera Pheri. Reacting on this, Rawal revealed, “As far as I know, initially, both Kartik and Akshay were to do the film, but it didn’t work out. I don’t know what happened.” The first film in the series, titled Hera Pheri, had released in 2000 and it became a cult classic. It was directed by Priyadarshan. Ali Zafar slams Javed Akhtar for making insensitive statements on Pakistan

Ali Zafar, a Pakistani actor and singer, criticised Javed Akhtar for his remarks about the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks at the Faiz Festival in Lahore last week. Ali had previously taken to social media to share his happiness over singing in front of Akhtar recently. He talked about his love and loyalty for his country in an Instagram story. He also wrote about the impact that Akhtar's insensitive and uncalled for statements can have on so many people's feelings. He took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Guys, I love you all and truly value your praise and criticism equally. But I always request one thing – verify facts before reaching any conclusion or judgement. I was not present at the Faiz Mela nor aware of what was said until the next day when I saw it on social media.” He added, “I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. Brothers Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurana to host Zee Cine Awards 2023

Ayushmann Khurrana has carved a niche for himself in mainstream Hindi cinema with his unusually funny and quirky dramas over the years, including his spectacular debut in the form of Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor in 2012. Similarly, his younger brother Aparshakti Khurana has also succeeded in displaying his talent in films and web-series in the last few years. Although both the siblings are different in terms of their acting skills, they do share a common penchant for humour. Now, the two are all set to display their comic skills as the hosts of this year’s Zee Cine Awards, which will be taking place on February 26 in Mumbai. Boney Kapoor recalls the first time he met Sridevi on her 5th death anniversary; filmmaker shares videos in her memory

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were one of the most beloved couples of the industry and her demise definitely left the entire Kapoor family in shock. Boney, who often recalls his memories with her, posts about it on social media and today on her fifth death anniversary, the filmmaker took to Instagram to share two video clips from the India Today Woman Summit, which had Sridevi as the Chief Guest. In the video clip, Boney Kapoor is seen in the audience and he was handed over the mic to talk about the Indian actress. During the same, he recalled his first meeting with her. In the video, Boney Kapoor recalled how it was love at first sight for him when he saw her in one of the Tamil films. "It happened the first time I saw her on screen, this was probably in the late 70s, when I saw one of her Tamil films. I said to myself that this is someone I would want to have in my film. We were planning to make a Rishi Kapoor film those days. I had bought the rights for a film.” In the same video, he also added that at that time he was working on Rishi Kapoor film. Although Rishi had not read the script before speaking to the Kapoor actor, Boney took off to Chennai to meet Sridevi in a bid to sign her as the leading lady. However, he added disappointingly that he couldn’t meet her then because she was in Singapore shooting for one of her films, adding, “She was always on my mind.” Later, he went on to talk about how he loved her Hindi film Solva Sawan (a Hindi remake of her Tamil film 16 Vayanthinile) and how it had an impact on him. Nawazuddin Siddiqui dowry case dismissed by Mumbai court

Readers may be aware that for the past few days, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is in news after his ‘former’ wife Aaliya Siddiqui threw major allegations against his family, including that of house arrest and as well as forcing her and their children to only use selected facilities within their residence. Along with her complaint, she had also alleged that Siddiqui and his family are harassing her for dowry and had moved the court regarding the same. However, as per recent reports, the Mumbai court has dismissed her pleas after their divorce documents were presented. In recent reports, lawyers Adnan Shaikh and Drishti Khurana had alleged that the couple are not married anymore. Presenting evidence to support their argument, the lawyers clarified in their statement that they produced divorce documents of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya Siddiqui aka Zainab. Following this, the court dismissed two pleas. In their statement, the lawyers also alleged how the marriage documents were presented to the court but their divorce documents were concealed. Talking about Aaliya Siddiqui, after she claimed that she and her kids were being tortured by Nawaz’s parents in their house, she had taken to social media to post videos of how there were security guards in her residence. In the video, Aaliya aka Zainab had shared how these guards refused her access to basic places like bathroom and toilet as she and her kids, were allegedly, allowed to use only the living room. As for the case, Aaliya had registered the case at Versova police station against Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family by filing an FIR against them under sections 498A, 509, and others of IPC on the grounds of dowry harassment and protection of women’s rights. This came after Aaliya was allegedly accused of trespassing by Siddqui’s family. Karisma Kapoor on Brown bagging a spot at Berlin Film Festival; says, “The honour is that Brown is the only Indian show in Series Market Select at Berlin”

Brown, Karisma Kapoor's latest show, has already garnered a following at the Berlin Film Festival before it ever airs. It is a dark and gritty investigative thriller. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about her character in Brown. She suffers from alcoholism and has been severely beaten by life. Curiously, because the story is set in Kolkata, Karisma had to learn Bengali for her part. Not only that, but the actress also had to learn how to roll a joint because her character is a chain smoker. In an interview, when Karisma revealed what compelled her to sign up for Brown. She told ETimes, “When I heard the script for Brown I was wowed. The character of Rita Brown is so different, she's so raw and human. The story touches upon certain topics which are not normally danced with or put forth. I remember my first reaction was, 'Should I do this?' After the narration and experiencing the insistence of Abhinay Deo (director) and the entire team of producers at Zee Studios, I decided to take up the challenge of being Rita Brown. It was a wonderful experience.” Karisma’s character in Brown was that of a chain smoker and an alcoholic. Hence, the actress had to learn to roll a joint. When asked whether it was similar to having a culture shock after getting acquainted with her character in the show, she said, “I wouldn't call it a culture shock, but these are definitely not things that I normally do. I was not in my comfort zone in that sense. But then that is what the challenge of being an actor is, right? And you always want to push yourself. I always want to take myself to the next creative level. Being Rita Brown was an extremely interesting experience and I think a creatively satisfying one at that.” She further added that every show demanded a lot of hard work. “Hard work here was to the point of very nuanced hard work, whether it was on the character, locations, on the script level, on every level of making the show,” she said. Brown had got selected for the Berlinale Series Market Select. Karisma Said, “The honour is that Brown is the only Indian show in Series Market Select at Berlin. It feels very humbling and exciting at the same time. The real victory is that all the hard work that we put into the show is getting noticed. And not just here in India, but on an international platform. It's also encouraging to know that our show has brought an all-new perspective to Indian content on a global stage. The kind of themes and topics that the show highlights are different. And the story tells you its fine to deal with all that stuff.” Brown is a dark and gritty investigative thriller. When the actress was asked what makes it so different, she said, “It is not just a regular crime drama. It is also a human drama. It's a show about human emotions. It's about certain topics that we don't bring to light or put forth too often. I think it's an inspirational story. I would call Rita Brown an inspiration to women around the world. You can be beat up, you can go through certain things, but there is always a way out.” Karisma’s character in the series is an Anglo-Indian character who is a cop. When asked how did she react to the character that was offered to her and how was her experience while playing the role, she said, “Yeah, that was very interesting. We did a lot of work to get that side of the character right. I saw a lot of footage, I had to read about it. We had a lot of workshops with Helen aunty and Soni (Razdan) aunty. It was a lot of fun playing an Anglo-Indian character.” Further when she was asked if the show was designed in a way that it would appeal not just Indian audience but to international viewers too, she said, “I don't know. I never thought about that, actually. I never looked at it that way. I don't think it was intentional. I think maybe Abhinay just tweaked the tone of his show in such a way that it has reached an international audience. The idea was always to make something different, a bit out of the ordinary. I don't think we set out to make something that must reach an international audience. It was set out to just be something out of the ordinary.” In the show, Karisma’s character Rita looked jaded. However, she was put in a corner and she had to push through. Comparing Karisma’s character reel life character to her real life, the actress was asked how did she relate to this and whether she could recall a similar situation in her real life where she had to fight back. She said, “That was the most interesting part for me. You don't really see these things with your average Indian female protagonist. Sometimes our characters are made to be superhuman. On the contrary, with Rita we get to see someone who is so beat up and so down and out. I just feel that going through a life journey, you see people, you see things happen in your life and other people's lives. And these are real human emotions that you experience. I think that's what touched me about Rita Brown, that she was so real and raw. Her thought process and her body language is not that of a typical heroine or a typical Indian character. She has not been portrayed as a typical woman. She is totally different.” Brown also stars Helen, KK Raina and Jishu Sen alongside Karisma, Surya Sharma and Soni Razdan and shall be one of the first series to follow a police procedural in an emotionally twistful manner. Amid the promotions, the actress spoke about working with the late actress Sridevi, who passed away in 2018. Speaking to BBC Asian Network during the UK promotions, Sajal Ali recalled how young she was during the shoot of Mom alongside Sridevi. She said that she had developed a good friendship with Janhvi Kapoor who was yet to debut in movies and that Sridevi was guiding her throughout the process of filming the movie. Rani Mukerji turns singer for the first time ever with Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway?

The powerhouse of talent, Rani Mukerji, is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. The posters have intrigued viewers, especially the tagline in the latest poster that reads ‘What would you do if your children were taken from you in another country?’. The trailer of the film will be out tomorrow, that is, February 23, and Bollywood Hungama has come across some interesting information about the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is a special film for Rani Mukerji as this is the first time she has turned singer. A soulful composition in the film has been sung by her and it will be one of the film’s highlights. The song has a mix of Hindi and Bengali lyrics.” This is the first time that Rani Mukerji will be credited as a playback singer in a film. The source further said, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is very close to Rani Mukerji’s heart as it tells an incredible and inspiring story. Hence, when the opportunity came in front of her to lend her voice to a song, she decided to go for it as she wants to give more than 100% to this film.” Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway releases in cinemas on March 17, 2023. Directed by Ashima Chibber of Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013) fame, it is inspired by the real-life story of a mother, whose children were forced into child services in Norway, a country that is extremely strict with its child protection system. It is produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment and stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh. Interestingly, though Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is mainly set in Norway, it was shot in the European country of Estonia. As per reports, due to Covid-related challenges, the team of the film didn’t get visas to shoot in Norway. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram on Tuesday to blast paparazzi for invading her privacy at her home. The actress was quite furious when photographers clicked her photos inside her house. The actress took to her Instagram story to call out the publication for sharing her pictures and even tagged Mumbai Police. Alia wrote, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house, having a perfectly normal afternoon, sitting in my living room when I felt something watching over me. I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of the neighbouring building with a camera right at me. In what world is this okay and is this allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy. There’s a line that you must not cross, and it is safe to say that all lines were crossed today.” Rallying behind her and calling out the invasion of privacy, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor also shared their grievances. Anushka Sharma, who had faced a similar incident, shared Alia’s story and wrote, “This is not the first time they are doing this. About two years ago we called them out for the same reason! You’d think it would have made them respectful of people's space and privacy. Absolutely shameful! They were also the only guys posting the photos of our daughter despite repeated requests.” Karan Johar, who is close to Alia, also posted, “There is no justification to this absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy. Everyone from the entertainment industry is always for the media and the paparazzi and are always accommodating. But there has to be a limit. This is about anyone’s right to feel safe in their own homes. This is not about actors or celebrities, it is basic human right!” Arjun Kapoor also expressed his frustration and echoed similar sentiments as Alia and wrote, “Absolutely shameless. This is crossing all limits if a woman isn’t safe in her own home forget if she is a public figure or not for a second… Any sane person who takes photographs of public figures for a living needs to know that this is pathetic conduct and these are people in media we have trusted and shown implicit faith in believing they are here to do a job not to make women feel unsafe or invade one’s privacy. This is nothing short of stalking @Mumbaipolice.” Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt also expressed her anger saying, “So it’s totally cool to point zoom lenses into people’s home while hiding in neighbouring building for content now? Grown men. With cameras. Hiding across the road. Taking surreptitious photos of an unaware woman without her consent in her home. The fact that the person in the photo is a celebrity does not somehow make this okay. If this was any other situation, with any other person - this would be considered harassment and a complete assault on privacy.” Alia’s mother Soni Razdan took to Instagram to write, “Shocked and dismayed at this blatant disregard for a person's privacy. Are we really turning into 'that country' now? Where do all our cultural norms simply cease to exist when it comes to 'getting the picture'? Hope someone can address this and fast!” Janhvi Kapoor added, “I understand showing up to places, and in plain sight doing your job. When there is a mutual understanding of the job of the photographers, and the job and requirements of being a public figure. This stealthiness, zooming into someone's private space without their consent or even awareness and calling it exclusive as if it's a journalistic accomplishment is far from it.” On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone.
