Rapper Drake mourns the death of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala, shares an old picture of him and his mother

Popular Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who joined the Congress before the Punjab elections, was reportedly shot dead. The incident allegedly took place in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. His untimely death has left the nation in shock with fans, netizens and political leaders demanding investigation in the murder of the rapper. Amidst this, celebrities, fans and everyone are mourning the loss of the popular singer and rapper. Popular Canadian rapper Drake also mourned the loss of the musician.

Rapper Drake took to his social media handle to offer condolences after the untimely death of Sidhu Moose Wala. He took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of Sidhu sitting next to his mother and wrote, “RIP Moose." He also added a bird emoji. The rapper also followed the Indian musician on Instagram.

Sidhu Moose Wala shot to fame in 2017 with his track ‘So High’. He is regarded as one of the most popular independent rappers. He made several hits including 'Legend', 'Devil', 'Just listen', 'Tibeyan da putt', 'Jatt da muqabala', 'Brown Boys' and 'Hathyar' among others. His last track was 'The Last Ride'.

Nick Jonas on becoming a father - “I’m so grateful for Malti Marie and the wonderful perspective of being a parent”

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became parents to a daughter earlier this year via surrogacy. Their newborn daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas was brought home in May 2022 as the little one was in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for over 100 days. But, the new parents are very grateful that their child is home.

Talking about being first time parent and the responsibility, Nick Jonas spoke to Variety recently and said, “The weight of everything is much more intense. I think it’s now about trying to be as present as possible and as thoughtful as you can be for your family, but also for other people’s journeys. I’m so grateful for [Malti Marie] and the wonderful perspective of being a parent.”

Ina recent conversation on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Nick had also said, “It’s pretty wild. There she (Malti Jonas) is with a little heart face. She is the best. It has been a magical season of our lives. It is a blessing to have her home.”

On Mother's Day, Priyanka Chopra wrote, “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every Doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.”

Meanwhile, Nick Jonas was recently a judge on latest season of The Voice.

After Dhaakad debacle, Kangana Ranaut begins prep for next directorial Emergency

Kangana Ranaut has faced another setback with the failure of Dhaakad at the box office. The film, which released in theatres on May 20, failed miserably and hardly any shows are playing. But, that doesn't stop the actress as she has begun prep for her next project, Emergency. Donning director's hat again after Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi.

The actress posted several pictures on Monday from the recee day. In one of the photos, she wrote, "Rekee day one… don't mess with me is my resting pose."

In another photo, she wrote, "Of all the roles I play I am most comfortable in being a film maker. #Emergency." She was dressed in white salwar kurta paired with green dupatta whilst being engrossed in conversation.

Kangana Ranaut had announced the project in June 2021. She wrote in a statement, "Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira."

Ritesh Shah will be writing the project. He has films like Pink, Kahaani, Kahaani 2, Rocky Handsome to his credit. He has also penned Kangana's film Dhaakad.

Kartik Aaryan refutes report of fee hike post Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 success - "Promotion hua hai, increment nahi"

Kartik Aaryan has been riding on cloud nine ever since Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 released as the actor has been creating various records ever since, from delivering the biggest opening weekend to crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark in just 9 days. Post the release of the film and the success, reports have been stating that the actor has hiked his fees. Now, refuting the same, the actor recently said that these rumours are untrue.

Taking to Twitter, the actor directly responded to a report that mentioned the fee hike. He said, “Promotion hua hai life mein/ Increment nahi ????/ Baseless.”

Recently, on being asked about such success of the film, Kartik shared, "During a time like this, having delivered a 100 crore collection within the first 9 days of release alone is the most surreal feeling as an actor. I knew the film would do well, but couldn't have imagined it like this. I owe the success to the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, who worked on it so passionately for 3 years, secondly, the makers who delivered their vision of this entertainer so phenomenally and most importantly, the ones who have been pouring it with so much love- the audience, as they have accepted us with their whole hearts."

With Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 now out, Kartik will next be seen in Shehzada, Captain India, Freddy and Sajid Nadiadwala's untitled next.

Liger pair Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday take on Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's 'The Punjaabban Song' dance challenge from Jugjugg Jeeyo, watch video

Varun Dhawan is all set for his first release in theatres post pandemic with family entertainer Jugjugg Jeeyo. The film, directed by Raj Mehta, also stars Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. For the release of the first track 'The Punjaabban Song', Varun and Kiara headed to Delhi to kick off the promotions. Following that, the actor has started an online dance challenge with his father David Dhawan. Now, Liger pair  Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday took on the challenge.

On Monday, Ananya Panday posted a video of herself doing the hook step with Vijay Deverakonda. The actress was donning a figure hugging yellow strappy dress whereas the actor wore black pants with white jacket and a shirt. She captioned the video as, "Hooked to this step and the vibe of this song! As they say - #JugJuggJeeyo to the team and all our love for the film from Team Liger." While it is unclear what the two actors were filming for, but seeing the the bright set, they could have shot an episode of Koffee With Karan season 7.

HITS AND MISSES OF THE WEEK: Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Kiara Advani amaze; Malaika Arora, Twinkle Khanna leave us unimpressed

Bollywood actresses exemplify glitz and glamour. HITS OF THE WEEK

DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Deepika Padukone has been surprising her fans every day at the Cannes Film Festival with her outfit choices. Deepika Padukone, who recently became the first Indian brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton, wore a floor-length gown adorned in black and gold metallic motifs, which gave it a gleaming and regal aspect. She also wore a matching shoulder piece with gorgeous black fur sleeves, which further increased the glam factor. Deepika's makeup included a smokey eye, bronzed cheeks, and a nude-brown lip. Her nails were painted a deep shade of wine red. Her smooth hair was pulled back to her shoulders. Her jaw-dropping look left everyone speechless.

KATRINA KAIF

The actress wore a gorgeous white gown with dramatic accents to filmmaker Karan Johar's 50th birthday bash. She wore a stunning white mini dress with a short feather trail on one shoulder that brought a unique aspect to the ensemble. She kept it simple with minimum makeup, statement studs, and a silky straight mane, which wonderfully complemented her appearance. Her dress is worth $2,410.80 (about Rs.186,828) and comes from Magda Butrym's collection. Katrina looked nothing short of an angel.

KIARA ADVANI

Kiara Advani chose a gorgeous floral lehenga by Anita Dongre for the trailer release of her forthcoming film. She wore a cream lehenga with floral designs, which she paired with a sea-green strappy choli and a matching dupatta. Kiara completed her ensemble with chandbalis and side-swept disheveled tresses. Kiara wore a stunning enhanced tan look with glossy lips and a lot of mascara for her makeup. The beauty has proven that she has impeccable fashion sense.

JANHVI KAPOOR

Janhvi Kapoor looked very stunning in an all-sequinned pink outfit. Janhvi's dress had multiple fancy features, including a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. She finished the appearance with flawless makeup, open hair, and simple accessories.

ANUSHKA SHARMA

Anushka Sharma shared various images of herself from Karan Johar's 50th birthday party on her Instagram feed on Wednesday. She wore smoking hot ensemble on the from the Elisabetta Franchi's clothing label. For the star-studded event,  she donned a black floor-grazing suit made of a flowing viscose jersey fabric. The gown has a keyhole neckline draped over the bust, emphasising the actress's décolletage, long sleeves, a body-con silhouette that accentuates her slender frame, and a thigh-high slit on the side. The outfit also has a waistband that opens up to display the midriff. A removable chained attachment with a rhinestone-encrusted padlock is included with the slit. Her gown is worth at Rs. 81,450. Anushka styled her attire with eye-catching gold jewellery and accessories. Strappy gold heels, tiny earrings, chunky gold bracelets, and statement rings completed her ensemble. She finalised her glam look with side-parted and tousled open tresses, gently bronzed complexion, sleek eyeliner, and mascara on the lashes, glossy blush pink lip colour, delicate eye shadow, reddened cheeks, and dazzling highlighter.

SHARVARI WAGH

Sharvari Wagh looked stunning in a black ensemble at Karan Johar's 50th birthday party. The gorgeous black dress is from shelves of designer label, Surya Sarkar. The plunging neckline of the tube gown was complemented by a stunning lace one-sleeve design. A translucent fabric arm morphs into a glove as part of her attire. With an asymmetrical hemline and a dramatic one-sided trail, the short dress had see-through corset detailing at the waistline. The actor completed his ensemble with black strappy heels. Sharvari wore her hair in a sleek ponytail and wore rosy makeup with shimmery eyelashes, plenty of mascara, and a glossy pink lip colour.

RASHMIKA MANDANNA

Rashmika Mandanna was a sight to behold in her all-black ensemble at Karan Johar’s 50^th birthday. In a one-shoulder black cut-out piece, the actress had sheer net details in a cutout manner around the torso, and the thigh-high split with a floor-length sheer silhouette at the back flawlessly complemented her style. To finish off the ensemble, she wore black shoes and a pair of striking earrings.

MISSES OF THE WEEK

MALAIKA ARORA

Malaika wore a vibrant lime green jacket and shorts combo with a purple low-cut bralette and bright pink block heels for Karan Johar's 50th birthday bash. Her low-cut purple bralette and gleaming silver bag stood out like a sore thumb, as did her monotone blazer set. Though the theme was bling, the vibrant colours for a night party didn't really work for us.

TWINKLE KHANNA

Twinkle Khanna's fashion choice during Karan Johar's 50th birthday bash wasn't upto the mark. She chose an ill-fitting silver shimmering skirt to go with the conventional white shirt and blazer. The combination was a complete let down. Her accessories, including her jewellery and bag, weren't helping her look any better.

KAJOL

The actress was spotted at Karan Johar's birthday celebration. With her olive green sequin gown and a daring thigh-slit to accent her style, Kajol went for the glam look. Her party attire was a turn-off. Kajol donned a figure-hugging dress. Her attire was ill-fitting and did not flatter her frame. Plus, her golden heels and jewellery detract from her overall appearance.

EXCLUSIVE: Rajshri announces its association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Boundless Media as fellow producers for its next film, Uunchai, starring Amitabh Bachchan

Since the start of its shoot in October 2021, Uunchai has stayed in the entertainment news for its veteran star cast. Headlined by Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and other notable names, Uunchai is seasoned director Sooraj R. Barjatya’s next offering. It will be the 60th film produced under the banner of Rajshri Productions (P) Ltd. and has been extensively shot in Nepal, Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Lucknow, and Kanpur. The shoot for the film has been completed.

The film promises to be a journey that explores the nuances of friendship. “Filmmaking is all about great teamwork and coming together of strong forces who think alike and share a common vision,” says Sooraj R. Barjatya.

Rajshri has welcomed on board Mahaveer Jain of Mahaveer Jain Films and Natasha Malpani Oswal of Boundless Media as producers for this ambitious project.
