Shabana Azmi opens up on her experience shooting for Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani; says, “I am amazed at his understanding of the craft”

The shooting of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is complete for the veteran cast Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. Now, only Alia Bhatt’s song with Ranveer Singh remains to be shot in Europe. Speaking of the experience Shabana says, “This was my first film with Karan Johar. It was also Dharamji’s first with Karan. We were like the newcomers on the sets. Ranveer and Alia are like Dharma Productions ka bachchas. Jayaji had worked with Karan in several films.”

Shabana Azmi who has worked with directors as diverse as Shyam Benegal and Manmohan Desai, rates Karan very highly. “I am amazed at his understanding of the craft. Karan is a director who knows cinema and understands the dynamics and nuances of filmmaking minutely. He had to direct so many experienced actors in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He knew exactly what he wanted from us.”

For this globally celebrated actress, one of the perks of doing Karan Johar’s film was the glamour quotient. “I’ve spent most of my career wearing cotton sarees. Manish Malhotra has opened up a new world for me. In fact, when I was shooting for Karan’s film in Delhi, I had to attend a wedding right after a day of gruelling shooting. I went in my shooting clothes and jewellery. Manish pleaded to at least let him give me real jewellery. ‘How can you go to a wedding wearing fake jewellery?’ I assured him it would be fine. And it was.”

Alia Bhatt is an ethnic dream in breezy teal blue silk velvet kurta worth Rs. 25K for Darlings promotion

Alia uploaded photos of herself wearing a teal blue silk velvet kurta to Instagram on Monday. Regarding Alia's outfit, the kurta features a fluid silhouette for a relaxed appearance. It has an ankle-length hemline, a V neckline with a contrasting pink band, a whimsical grey design all over, long flared sleeves with pink gota patti and gold embroidery, side slits, and pleats on the front. To boost the glamour factor, Alia added oxidised silver jewellery to the kurta. She chose bulky jhumkis and flashy jewellery. Alia's final glam options were a delicate bindi, chic black eyeliner, mascara on the lashes, a glossy nude lip colour, a dewy foundation, reddened cheeks, centre-parted open wavy hair, and an on-fleek eyebrow and Alia’s pregnancy glow was an added bonus.

Regarding her professional endeavours, she is currently anticipating the August 5 release of Darlings, which will be her production debut. Alia has finished filming her two forthcoming movies, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Heart of Stone. Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan star in her debut Hollywood movie, Heart of Stone. Ranveer Singh is featured in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Additionally, a surprise appearance from a special guest elicited joyous reactions from the crowd. TOMORROW X TOGETHER said, "We had a chance to release new music with amazing American artists this year, bringing out their fellow Gen-Z artist iann dior to stage." With the crowd roaring, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and iann dior performed their newly-released single 'Valley of Lies' (feat. iann dior) while showing off the the viral #ValleyofLies challenge dance move created by YEONJUN.

Prior to the start of their set, the packed-out crowd chanted "TXT" in anticipation of their performances. As soon as the set began, the whole crowd jumped and sang along in unison to the band’s songs including "Magic" and "Anti-Romantic" while putting up the hand-sign 'L' during "LO$ER=LO♡ER" choreography.

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty to kick off Singham 3 in April 2023

Ajay Devgn is currently directing his fourth film Bholaa starring Tabu and himself in the lead roles. While he is busy with his other commitments, the actor will reunite with Rohit Shetty again for Singham 3. The third installment has been in the news for a while but it is yet to kick off. But, as per reports, the film will go on the floors in 2023.

According to a media portal, Rohit Shetty confirmed the film will kick off in April, next year. Ajay Devgn is busy with his commitments whereas Rohit Shetty is busy with the post-production of Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh. The prep is slated for next year for the third installment and the filmmaker said that it will be the biggest cop universe ever that they have made till date.

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is currently busy with the shoot for Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. The filmmaker's Cirkus releases on December 23, 2022. Ajay Devgn, on the other hand, is directing Bholaa. He also has Thank God next with Sidharth Malhotra.

Alia Bhatt says some actors do return pending fees after their films have flopped: 'I agree that stars’ salaries should be balanced out'

Alia Bhatt is back to work and has been busy promoting Darlings. The film is all set to premiere on 5th August 2022 on Netflix. The film marks the debut of Alia Bhatt as a co-producer. The film is also co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. In a recent conversation, the actress spoke about her career and film choices and even dived into the topic of how Hindi film industry is facing difficulties with box office numbers.

Speaking to Indian Express, when asked about what does star mean in current times, Alia said, "What makes a star? It’s the love, but there is also a certain kind of star who will bring in the money at the box office. But that cannot happen now without content, ultimately it’s the power of the content that is pulling the audience to cinemas. Of course, there is a certain larger-than-life experience on the big screen which you cannot replace, but the depth of good content standing the test of time is something people should go for, and do go for. So, the stardom comes from the content you give to the people.”

The actress also spoke about what the star earns if the film fails at the box office. “I agree that stars’ salaries should be balanced out against the budget of the film. But then, I am no one to tell anyone what they should charge, kyunki main toh choti hun. If you ask me if some reassessing in general needs to happen, I’m sure all the producers are thinking that way… Even a star is thinking that way.” The actress said that there have been instances where the actors have refused pending fees or returned fees after the films have performed poorly at the box office.

Darlings is produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma and marks the feature film debut for director Jasmeet K Reen. With an exceptionally versatile cast including Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in lead roles, Darlings is a dark comedy entertainer brimming with secrets, mystery, and drama. The film delves into the lives of a resilient mother-daughter, fighting for love and finding their footing in Mumbai whilst also battling their demons.

Dia Mirza shares heartbreaking news of niece Tanya Kakde’s death in a car accident: ‘May you find peace and love’

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has shared a heartbreaking news of her niece Tanya Kakde's death which occurred in a car accident in Hyderabad. Her niece was the daughter of Congress leader Feroz Khan passed away on Monday.

In her heartbreaking post, Dia wrote, “My neice. My child. My jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling… you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti.”

Several reports state that Tanya Kakde and four of her friends were coming back from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi international airport when the accident occurred. The onlookers and patrol team rushed them to the hospital. However, Tanya died on the way to hospital.

Dharmendra wraps up Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani; son Bobby Deol and grandson Aryaman visit him on the sets of the film

Veteran actor Dharmendra has wrapped up Karan Johar directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The actor took to social media to make the announcement. He also received a sweet surprise from his son Bobby Deol and grandson Aryaman who came to visit him on the sets of the film.

Sharing his picture, Dharmendra wrote, “Friends with his blessings, your good wishes I am back to my job. Love you all.” Ranveer Singh, who plays his grandson in the upcoming movie, left a comment on the photo which read, “The most lovable.” Daughter Esha Deol commented, “Love you, papa.” Bobby also left a comment saying, “Love you, papa.”
