South Korean broadcasting network SBS has dropped first-look images for Kim Sejeong from SBS’s upcoming Japanese drama remake titled Today’s Webtoon.
Today’s Webtoon is a Korean remake of the popular 2016 Japanese drama Sleepeeer Hit! The drama will tell the story of On Ma Eum (Kim Sejeong), a former judo athlete who joins the webtoon editorial department as a new employee and struggles in order to mature into a true webtoon editor amidst South Korea’s competitive webtoon industry.
In the newly revealed images, Kim Sejeong can be seen dressed as an office goer, sporting her adorable short hair giving a bright smile. As reported by Soompi, Kim Sejeong will star as On Ma Eum who gives up on her Olympic dreams after suffering an injury. However, the optimist then sets her sights on webtoons, which has been her source of comfort since she was an athlete.

Today’s Webtoon also stars Nam Yoon Su and Choi Daniel. Nam Yoon Su will star as Goo Joon Young who grows to be more like On Ma Eum by sincerely putting his heart and soul into everything after reflecting back on himself. Choi Daniel will be taking on the role of Seok Ji Hyung, an unpredictable deputy editor with an unreadable poker face who becomes a dependable mentor for On Ma Eum.
Directed by producing director (PD) Jo Soo Won, the drama will start airing from June 29 this year.
