Karishma Sawant, popularly known for portraying the character Aarohi in the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has made a mark in the audience’s heart owing to her acting skills and even won an award for her stint in the show. In an industry, where actors are usually skeptical about taking up negative roles, Aarohi plays a character with grey shades in the Star Plus Show.
Speaking about it, the actress maintained that it doesn’t matter what the shade of character it is but at the end of the day she is just a performer. Despite being a debutant, we wondered what made Karishma Sawant take up a character of such dynamics and if she was apprehensive about it. Talking about it, Karishma said, “Acting is not about becoming positive or negative. It’s about becoming a character. I am here to perform. It could be heroic or it could be ridiculously flawed”
But she also maintained that just because an actor performs a certain role, it resonates with their real life too. “When an actor plays the role of a murderer that doesn’t mean the actor is giving a message to the society to become a murderer. It’s just him/her playing the character like that for people to see what all can go in the mind of a person like that. That’s the beauty of cinema,” she concluded.
