Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji took a four-year break from acting after the birth of Adira before making a comeback with the 2018 movie Hitchki. Post this; she has appeared in several films. She successfully maintains a positive work-life balance. In an interview, Rani Mukerji spoke about her family making efforts when asked what type of effort she had to put out. Rani told Pinkvilla, “I think I would say efforts have been made from my family- whether it's my husband who has been so understanding and my daughter who has been so understanding. I would like to give them the credit. Because when I was in films and I was playing the role of a daughter to my parents, my parents were very supportive. They encouraged me to be in the field that I was in and they really looked after me while I used to have those grilling schedules and was working day and night. They were very supportive.” After a two-year hiatus, the actor is back this month with a new movie, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway. Rani plays an Indian woman living in Norway whose young children are taken away from her because she is deemed an unfit mother in the drama based on actual events. Rani revealed in a recent interview that her mother asked her to pursue acting when she was younger. Rani realized that by working, she would contribute to the improvement of her family's financial status, which was not excellent at the time. She said, “When I grew up, an offer came my way. My mother very politely put it to me that try it, if it doesn't work for you; you can go back to studies. Maybe I didn't realize at that time, the situation in my family was such that there was a need of financial help. But I didn't think of this much as this. No child thinks their parents aren't doing well.” She added, “The kind of lifestyle that my parents tried to give me and my brother, it was quite comfortable. I'm so glad that she did because I'm really in love with my profession today.” On the professional front, Rani was last seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring alongside Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. She will be next seen in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway which features Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta.
